Sport is Political - Boycott Israel

While I never saw myself bringing my artistic practice into design work, I feel like there is an onus on me as an artist to must use whatever skills I have to help push our world in a good direction.

My politics and ethics are pro-humanity and when MEP Lynn Boylan, a member of An Chlé (Left Alliance)at the European Parliament, invited me to design a scarf that would promote solidarity with Palestinians, I took the opportunity.

The Sport Is Political - Boycott Israel scarf was commissioned by Minister Boylan to give Irish football fans a way to show their opposition to Ireland playing against Israel in UEFA Nations League fixtures planned for autumn 2026.

This scarf is now winging its way to football clubs and fans across Ireland.

While Ireland is not a hard power, we have always had significant soft power on the global stage. Now is one of those times that we use it.
